L’Espace Vision uses Nucoda to grade live Toshiki Kadomatsu concert
Japanese post production facility L’Espace Vision recently graded and finished a three-disc Blu-Ray DVD project using Nucoda Film Master for artist Toshiki Kadomatsu, titled Toshiki Kadomatsu 30th Anniversary Live 2011.6.25 Yokohama Arena.
The exciting live performance, recorded in June, was shot on 27 XDCAM EX and AVCHD cameras. The content was offline edited at L’Espace Vision using Apple Final Cut Pro and the EDL was sent to the Nucoda Film Master for grading. To achieve the high quality that Mr Kadomatsu required for the project, the colourist had to balance the tone across the 27 camera feeds - a considerable task - as well as reduce noise in the material. By using the system’s DVO, Clarity and Grain image processing tools this was achieved with absolute minimum of effort
Conformed media was then directed to the NAS system. The DPX files were then exported and again conformed to DPX. Nucoda Film Master was then used to insert all the CG shots. The DVD, which includes five hours of material, has now been released and is being enjoyed by fans across the world.
